Description
Description
The concentration for my Theatre major in college was Costume Design, but as of last night I had not yet attempted traditional Japanese attire.

This preliminary sketch was inspired by the illustrations in "The Tale of Genji" by Murasaki Shikibu, widely believed to be the first true novel ever written (and by a woman, no less). The illustrations accompanying the text are heavily stylized, so that is why my sketch is also a very stylized piece.

This is coolcoolcool! I like the style you did it in, kinda makes me think of those japanese woodblock prints in a way. Pretty kimono! Awesoem flower pattern and i like the way you depicted all those folds and layers of clothing!
