A Boy and His Tentacles

Basically, it was supposed to be just someone sitting on the roots of a tree. Then I tried adding a tail, then another, then just said "F*ck it" and gave him four tentacles. If I could only draw backgrounds (I am terrible at those), this picture would be perfect. It's hard to tell if he's happy or sad, I guess it could be taken either way. This picture is a little larger than it appears, there are more roots on the other side of the tree, and the trunk goes up a little further.
