PART TWO

There was water. Water that could not be avoided. The calm before the storm. The deep blue water filled up the room... No, it wasn't a room... More of a space. And endless space, devoid of any sense or compassion.

I tried holding my breath, but could not take in any air as I was pounded by a wave of icy, freezing water. When I next looked downward, the darkness I had been standing on- the floor, if you will- had completely evaporated. There was water above, and water below.

The confusion I had previously felt escaped me, and a feeling of calm washed over me like the waves of water.

Until I saw the chain.

A strong, metal chain bounded me to the water. It connected from my wrist all the way down to god-knows-where. I panicked. I tried tugging, bending, tearing, but nothing worked to get the damn thing off. I realized suddenly, that I was slowly inching downwards.

My eyes shot all over, looking for something to help me escape, but there was nothing. Only water. The confusion and turmoil that I'd felt was coming back. In the back of my mind, It manifested as the thought that I was going to drown.

I heard a single word repeating in my head over and over. It was just a simple word, but it struck me every time it was said.

Liar.

Me? Lie? About what? Why would I lie about something?

Liar.

I was lost in the word, completely forgetting about being dragged down. I heard it again and again.

Liar.

I focused on it. That one word. I felt something. An emotion that I'd felt previously in my trance. It was all too famailiar to me. Anger. The emotion was anger.

Liar.

Some unknown voice from somewhere also unknown was going to tell ME what I was? No. Nonononononono. I wouldn't let that happen.

Liar.

I tore at the chain with all my might, and to my surprise, it gave way. I was sent tumbling upwards. Up, up, up.
