The Ghost Of Love

I got the idea for this picture from the song "Ghost Of Love" by Simply Red. It came out sometime after I'd watched the Corpse Bride and it always makes me think of the film.

I suppose Emily is something of a "ghost of love". (Spoiler alert!) Throughout their marriage, Victor and Victoria will constantly remember her sacrifice for them and be haunted by the tragedy of her death at the hand of wicked Lord Barkis. This theme is often touched upon in stories by PlayerPiano on FanFiction.net - her works are so good I consider them to be the film's canon.

I have now managed to get my head around some of GIMP's features, such as the programme's ability to "layer" pictures, which was very useful as I created this image.

P.S. On a different note, I was a bit surprised a while ago to find out Simply Red had done some new songs. I thought they'd broken up, but maybe that was just temporary.
