Also, 'The Story of Sarafina'.
'Nala flinched as a roar echoed round the Pridelands, remembering what had happened to her own pride when it had been taken over by a new king. Sarafina offered her some words of comfort as they headed deeper into the new territory.'
Nala and her mother enter the Pridelands for the first time and Nala is terrified of Mufasa's roar.
Maybe Sarafina's pride was taken over by new males, and to save her cub, she fled with Nala to a new pride. Mufasa allowed them to join his pride, without harming the young cub, and they finally found their place.
(And Nala is no longer Simba's cousin or half-sister!)

It's the 100 Picture Challenge, search google or Deviant art for the list. You basically have a list of 100 themes, and do a picture for every theme :) Thanks for commenting! :D
