Began to play with the concept of lighting and shading without the use of colors, which I found in my perspective helped define and accentuate more of the facial feature on the portrait I had just recently made.
Using simple outlines and bold shading with the use of blending it made it more enjoyable, almost like a flow of the paint brush.

I adore the great contrast of white and black here!

I'm only so much of a critique of other people's work. I'm more of a critique of my own work and what it is about... but here I go
I like black&white or black, white and gray colored pictures. I would have to see this in color in order to say which one I like more. Or who who knows, I may like it just as it is. Sometimes color brings it more alive... and sometimes it doesn't. Although sometimes it depends on what type of color is used.
I don't draw these kinds of pictures, the only times I did was in art class. But when I did I tried to put in as much detail as I could. So At first when I saw that we only see one "eyebrow" I thought it looked strange... but giving it some thought... it really brings out her expression even more. It's like she's giving a Mr Spock look (one eyebrow raised) but with a big smile.
Are you finished with this picture?
