Whew, I finally got this one done. Here's the first and original ending to the Cendrillon picture/story I drew a few days ago.
In this version of the ending, as the bell strikes twelve, Cendrillon stabs and actually kills the prince, her love, just as planned. Ashamed and heartbroken at what she had done, she runs off into the night, leaving her glass slipper behind.
The end.
Sad, huh? ;_; These endings always kinda get me. Fairy tales are actually a lot darker originally than what they are made out to be now.
Now, as for the picture. I almost didn't finish this one but I did because I promised. Why? A few nights ago, I had gotten the lineart done, perfectly, and right before I saved, my computer rebooted. o_o Now, if there was ever a time when I've wanted to throw a computer out of a window... I eventually convinced myself to do it again, but it's not nearly as detailed as before. TT_TT Oh well.
The second reason this almost went undone/or at least delayed is because I've been really sick. Today I convinced myself to finish it, though it's not how I wanted it to be done. I wanted to have what you see as the picture in the background, with Gallows laying dead in the front and Elaina running off, leaving the shoe, behind. Sorry guys, but you get just this instead. ;_; Though if anyone drew that left out part for me, you would be awesome.
Well, enjoy guys! I'll try to feel/get better and then get the second ending done. *coughs*

That would be the hardest thing to do...but it makes you wonder if she really did love him. She was willing to sacrifice him, to save herself...is that love?
Anyway, you are right on, the orginal fairytales were MUCH darker than they are now. I read "The Little Mermaid" and I knew not to expect the Disney version, but O.M.G. that was a dark read.

It would be a terrible thing to live through. To kill yourself, or kill your love and go on living, knowing you've done it. People act differently, so I guess we'll never know. I think she really loved him, but that's just me.
Also, I know for a fact that Elaina herself would rather run the knife through her own chest before Gallows' (thank God this is just a cosplay) and he's the same way. <3
The Little Mermaid is a very good example. The original shocked me too. It made me so sad. ;_; The poor girl. However, no matter how awesome/dark the originals are, I will always love my Disney.
