Eternal Sailor Venus

Description

This was one of my more favourite works when I was younger. Although it's a bit old feel free to post comments because much of the style of the picture I still use. I've always like coloured pencils and always will I think. <br />

Anyway, originally I was going to make a series of the sailors as eternals with extra pieces added to their costumes but I only got this far.

It's cool how it kinda looks like a postcard. =D With the Venus sign looking like a stamp! That's so cool! =)

Well I was't really going for Naoko's look since I was 14 and I didn't even know who wrote Sailor Moon at the time but hey, whatever you think. ^_^

I used to like Sailor Moon the most but then one day I just kind of thought, well actually, I really like Sailor Venus. I was so Sailor Moon at the time that these days I'm not that much interested in her. It's most likely because she's always the strongest, the best, yadda, yadda, yadda. I'd much rather see some of the other sailors beat a powerful enemy or something rather than die protecting Sailor Moon and then she finishes them off anyway. It's not that I dislike her but the others just seem to interest me more now because they're not as strong and such.

Mina for example, may be the leader of the sailors but I find that she very much doubts herself and her abilities. I can be the same way sometimes and I found that Aragorn from LotR's had a similar issue so I guess it's easier for me to relate to her because of that.

Anyway, Rini's too much of a brat for me but I still love her and I really like her hairstyle - it's just so cute!

Thank you as always and the idea about the postcard is pretty interesting. I never would have thought of it that way.

Why thank you! Yes I thought the wood was pretty original too although I could sure work on colouring it better. I always loved the boots in this picture and I liked the idea that once the Sailors became eternal, their uniforms would sort of be slightly different to one another's other than just the colours. That way they all sort of got their own more distinct identity. For Sailor Venus I decided to incorporate the mask she wore as Sailor V and her chain that Naoko sometimes drew on her.
