Uhm, I honestly don't know, I saw some pictures of this character and decided to draw it, just because it's so cool looking. I have no idea what role it played, as I haven't seen the episode. The Face of Boe appeared in the 9th Doctor Episode "The End of the World". Apparently it's just a giant (REALLY giant) head-creature that lives in a giant jar full of liquid
UPDATE- I have learned some interesting facts about The Face of Boe. Not only is he one of the most wealthy beings in the galaxy, but also one of the oldest. Chronologically speaking, The face of Boe first appears on Doctor Who in the 2001st Century, where it is announced that he is expecting a baby, Boemina (The Long Game). He next appears several billion years later, with no sign of having aged a day, at a gathering of wealthy beings who have come to witness the sun's expansion devouring the Earth, what an Odd hobby...(The End of the World) There is some speculation that The Face of Boe is immortal, at least in the sense that he cannot die of old age .(He appears to have beeen in serious danger of dying violently when the shields to the station from which he was watching the destruction of the Earth were sabotaged, of course, it's also possible it would have just been an extremly painful, but not fatal, experience.) He seems like a very nice being.
The Face of Boe hails from the Isop galaxy.
I gathered much of this info from The Wikipidia, a great online dictionary of everything, even Anime. Arlong's on there(:, but Chuu isn't ):
I also need to thank Padfoot Lover for letting me know of the baby Boemina, and the Face of Boe's appearance in "The Long Game"
Please, no profanity in comments,
Thank you.

Hi again, Ran_The_Hyena. :D
I don't know if you've seen The Christmas Invasion, but if you have you may have noticed The Face of Boe in the Preview for next series. There was a Cat Woman speaking and she says: "He said he'd talk to a Wanderer. To the man without a Home." And then it shows the new Doctor stroking the front of Boe's Jar and looking sad about it. The tank is steamed up and the Face of Boe looks as thought he is crying or is upset: definately in pain. I just thought you maight like to know. Oh, and can I have a Request? If yes, please can you draw the New Doctor (Tennant) with K-9? (his robotic dog) It doesn't have to be realistic. Thanks!
Best Wishes,
- Padfoot_Lover

p.s. Whoop for long comments!
p.p.s. Sorry if there are any typos! =S
