The Slyther
The Slyther
The Slyther by Ran_The_Hyena
Description
Description
The Slyther was a pet of the Black Dalek in "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" waaaaaaaaaayback in the First Doctor (William Hartnell's) run. He roamed around the Dalek controlled areas eating stray humans trying to get out and rebels trying to get in. He went chasing two humans, one of them the Doctor's companion Ian, in a coal? mine. They jumped over a deep mineshaft onto something, he tried to follow, and, well, Slyther's can't jump.

He later returned, under the name "Sid", and made a splash on the dating circuit, earning quite the reputation as a "Lady's Slyther"....

First off, I have no idea what the Slyther looks like. Why? I have three pictures and a pewter (Gaming) figure, and NONE of them look alike. Apparently his appearance was changed between episodes. The best picture I have is a tiny thumbnail in Doctor Who: Monsters and Villians. I know he has at least 4 scrawny arms, and had long eye-stalks, at one point. The figure is completely wrong, giving him only two muscular arms and a furry coat. The sketch by Nick Evans, who played the Slyther, gives him four arms and three toothy things coming from his mouth? Will the real Sid Slyther please stand up?

Please, no profanity in comments, or I shall have the Slyther eat you.
