Physician

An OC of mine, The Physician is on of the Elders of the Universe, he's about 5 billion years old (Yes, Billion), and has devoted his life to the practice of medicine and healing.

The Elders of the Universe are a group of ancient beings who are each the last of their respective races, kept alive by their obssessions, such as collecting (The Collector), exploring (The Runner), or seeking knowledge (The Possessor, the Contemplator)

Physician's people were empathic, and were wiped out by an empathic plague, with he being the only survivor. After this, he decided to devote his life to keeping others from suffering. The Runner found him and brought Physician into the Elders, teaching him how to use the power cosmic to survive, and Physician considers him his "Big Brother", and his only lasting friend, as they are both immortal. As Physician is a receiving empath (He feels what others feel) and Runner is a projecting empath (He radiates joy and a feeling of well-being), they make a good team. Physician and Runner share an empathic link that keeps him from going mad from all the pain he feels around him.

Hair- None, Physician has branches, leaves and flowers instead of hair.
Gender-Male/Physician is a male tree, and is unable to reproduce as all others of his race are dead. He has no interest in any other species or genders.

Known Allies: Most of The Elders of the Universe, the peaceful ones anyway( Runner, Gardener, Possessor, Contemplator, Architect, Caregiver, Judicator, Dreamscape ((Another OC of mine)) and many others). He heads The Physicians Guild, and has allies on planets throughout the universe, including among "dangerous" races such as the Badoon and the Brood, and will help almost anyone in need. He's known to numerous Earth heroes such as The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, the Avengers...

Known Enemies: Grandmaster, Obliterator, Astronomer, Galactus, D'Ken, The Shi'Ar military, Death, Colonialist governments, people who hurt or oppress others, illness of all kinds.

Special Powers: Physician can sense the physical pain of others, and over the billions of years he's learned to diagnose illness just by the feelings he gets from the patient. He is skilled in all forms of non-mystical medicine he has ever encountered.He can also use his power-cosmic to heal those in direst need, even to perform healings on a planetary scale, though this leaves him weakened.

Special Weaknesses: Physician is now totally immortal and indestructable due to Death's banning all Elders from her presence due to something Grandmaster did, which is why Physician hates Grandmaster. His pain can never end... Also, if his brother the Runner is harmed, the empathic link between them will cause a powerful and painful feedback to Physician. If the link were totally severed, Physician would either go insane from the pain of the universe or have to dull his senses, which would affect his ability to heal others and which he would not do. I guess he could find another projecting empath, but it's more than just empathics, it's friendship and a sense of brotherhood. He'd have a hard time coping without Runner.


Physician is a tree-based lifeform, with bark-like skin, leaves, flowers, etc... His hands and fingers are exremely
long and well suited to delicate medical procedures. Because he feels the pain of others, Physician is a total pacifist. If he hurt someone, he would literally feel it himself. He has a whole fleet of medical personnel who travel the universe helping people, and his flagship is the HEALER I.

Because of their empathic link, if Runner is harmed, Physician will feel his pain, magnified several times. When Runner was briefly devoured by Galactus, Physician went into a temporary coma, unable to cope with his pain. He recovered once Runner was freed.
