Distinguishing Features: Scorpionfly resembles a humanoid scorpion with four wings and a glossy black carapace. He has two faces, and two mouths, the lower mandibles can grind steel and digest any organic matter, the upper mouth is used mainly for speaking and conversation, as he cannot speak out of the lower. The large eyes on the sides of his head give him 360 degree vision, and his antennae are sensitive to various scents and atmospheric changes. His main head is fly-like with a long, slender snout, while his inner face resembles a porceline doll's. His stinger contains a venom sack filled with highly pressurized, extremely toxic and acidic venom, and he can also sparay venom at an enemy.
His wings are powerful, and his light body can perform feats of agility impossible to larger beings, though he is in a distinct disadvantage on the ground. He also ages very slowly.

Special Weaknesses: Psychotic, paranoid. He has great difficulty trusting others, but once his trust is won it's won for life. Hates and kills pedophiles without hesitation. If his venom sack is pulled from his body or ruptured, it will heal, but the loss will cause him to go into temporary shock. He is sensitive to cold. He won't harm children, even in battle, and will kill allies to save a child if necessary ...

Special abilities: Scorpionfly is an expert tracker with a natural sense of navigation. He can go for weeks without food, water or sleep, allowing him to travel across oceans without having to rest. He can eat and digest anything organic, including wood and bone. He can also fly through intense storms due to his small size and little wind resistance. He has some combat training, but prefers to use his powers in battle.

Scorpionfly doesn't know when or where he was born, he was abandoned at birth as a demon and lived in the wild during the early part of the Westward Expansion. Most whites saw him as a demon, many Natives assumed he was some kind of spirit or omen. After a time he flew to Japan, not knowing where he was going, of course, and was found by a peasant named Eiijiro, who raised him as his son, teaching him the ways of humanity and giving him the name "Demon Scorpionfly". However, most other people where terrified of him. After Perry's fleet forced Japan to open it's borders with the West, the land fell into chaos and civil war, and Eiijiro was murdered by bandits while Scorpionfly was out hunting, bandits he methodically tracked down and killed very slowly...

Blaming the chaos on the Imperialists and the Westerners, he aided the Shogunate in battle, not really believing in their cause, but just wanting things to go back to the way they were. Eventually he was assigned a servant boy named Koji, who he began to consider his son. When he found out that Koji had been molested by his fomer master, he bided his time until he could catch the man alone and kill him, slowly and painfully. It was at this point that Scorpionfly developed his absolute hatred of pedophiles. However, the man had been a high ranking aide to the Shogun, and technically they were on the same side, so Scorpionfly had to keep it hidden. He eventually grew dissalusioned with both sides and, after the war, took Koji and returned to his old home, where he figured he'd he'd live out the rest of his life...

However, Koji grew up, married, had children and eventually grew old and died, as did his children, and his grandchildren...Unable to cope, and learning that he was in fact a mutant and not some kind of demon, Scorpionfly sought out other mutants, such as the External Saul, to learn more about his kind.

During the two World Wars that ravaged earth, Scorpionfly fought for his own purposes, and not for any goverment. He would attack anyone who was harming innocent people, including Japanese soldiers, which cost him a great deal of status for years afterward in his homeland.

Eventually, after two world wars, countless horrors and the rise of anti-mutant hatreds, Scorpionfly became a mutant terrorist, part of The Mutant Liberation Army, massacring the Church of Humanity and taking time out to clean out a few pedophile organizations along the way. He often battled the Avengers, and frequently found his match in the Avenger Wasp, one of the few who could match his speed and aerial agility. Scorpionfly nearly killed Hercules by accident when the demi-god crushed his stinger, recieving a high-pressure blast of venom in the face. Eventually he left the Mutant Liberation Army along with Transit to save a young mutant teammate named Ymir who was being exploited as a weapon by Hawke, and joined forces with his fomer enemies the Avengers to return the giant Ymir to normal human size, after which he turned himself in to authorities and was sent to Ravencroft Institue for the Criminally Insane, but he didn't stay long, as he was recruited, along with Transit, by SHIELD as a superhuman agent. He now works for the International community fighting terrorists.
