Splicer can extend fiber-optic cables from his eyes that allow him to alter computer programming or even human minds. His arms are telescopic and can extend for over 50 yards, ending in long, clawed fingers, and his neck can extend several feet as well. He has built in scanners in his eyes, a holographic projector in his left hand and superhumanly powerful legs that allow him to leap several meters straight up and run at superhuman speeds. His tongue can be extended up to ten feet and used as a razor-sharp whip/sword. He can also climb sheer surfaces. He can survive terrible injuries, and can absorb other organic or inorganic matter into his body through the virus, either as food and fuel or to add those qualities to his own (Such as absorbing a laser rifler into his arm and making it part of his arsenal.) he has among other features, welding torches in his fingers, an energy cannon in his right palm, numerous tendrils that can be extened from his body to drain energy from other power sources, An onboard communications system, and an Image Inducer to make him appear normal. He also possesses a large onboard databank with information on and images of various mutants.

He formerly had the ability to infect others with the Techno-Organic Virus through his claws via scratching, but this ability was neutralized by Beast.


Donovan Grey was a college student in Iowa who was completely paralized in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. While in the hospital, he was approached by Donald Pierce, who offered him the chance to live again, as a cyborg Reaver, naturally, he took the offer, and Pierce infected him with a Techno-Organic virus that healed his body, but also disfigured him as it spread. It also affected his mand, as Pierce had programmed it to turn it's victims against mutants.

Special weaknesses: Splicer is very naive and inexperienced at "super-heroing" and big city life.

Pierce took Donovan to his Australian base and dubbed him "Pretty Boy MK II" replacing the original, who had been captured and reprogrammed. There, Donovan was trained by his fellow Reavers, particularly Murray Reese, in armed combat. He also befriended another Reaver, Angelo Macon, who was not quite as evil as the others. Eventually Donovan realized that Pierce wanted to infect all humans with the Techno-Organic Virus to "Raise them to perfection" and murder all mutants, and he fought against his programming and fled, with the help of the Aboriginal mutant teleporter Gateway, and went to warn the only people he figured could help, the X-Men, particularly Beast. Unfortunately, the X-men immediatly assumed him to be an enemy and Northstar blasted his arm off before he could explain. As things calmed down, Donovan grafted his arm back on and explained the situation. After studying him, Beast was able to stop him being able to infect others and undue Pierce's anti-mutant programming, and Donovan left. He has since become a vigilante "Super Hero" calling himself Splicer. He has worked with other heroes, most notably Nightcrawler and Spider-Man, all the while keeping his eye out in case Pierce tries to reclaim him.

Note: He was called "Pretty Boy MK II" due to having many of the same powers as the previous Reaver called Pretty Boy, not due to his appearance.
