Description

One of the Spawn of the eldritch horror that is Shub-Niggurath. Isn't he cute?

Mostly based on official artwork such as cards and roleplaying guides.

Dark Young and Shub-Niggurath copyright H.P. Lovecraft (Yes, I know he's dead), Chaosium and Arkham publishing.

I misquoted Lovecraft in my comment, what he said was: "Yog-Sothoth's wife is the hellish cloud-like entity Shub-Niggurath, in whose honour nameless cults hold the rite of the Goat with a Thousand Young."

Shub-Niggurath is, in Lovecraft's words, "Yog-Sothoth's wife . . . A Hellish, cloud-like entity . . . In whose honour nameless cults perform the rite of The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young."

The Dark Young are her children, messengers and servants, they preside over the ceremonies, accept sacrifices in their mother's behalf, protect the cults and kill nosy outsiders. They look like animated trees, are about 20 feet tall with numerous mouths and three legs ending in hooved feet.
