Fearless - Chad for LexLuthorsVictimNJustAFriend

LexLuthorsVictimNJustAFriend (that's quite the username!) wanted a sketch of her character Chad dressed any way and doing anything, and it just so happens that I'd been meaning to try out a pose from Air Gear, so this was the perfect time for it. I don't usually draw from references, but Air Gear is (essentially) a roller-blading manga, and if you can get past the mind-numbing fanservice, it puts forth some of the nicest action poses that I've ever seen. I simply had to try one. Sadly, all the good poses that I had in mind were in chapters that I haven't re-downloaded yet, so this one's just kinda eh. I'll try again later.

Obviously, I fail at drawing feet (don't look! don't look!), but I think the hands turned out pretty well (especially because I had to improvise them because the pose I took this from had the guy wearing a straight-jacket o_O;). I actually took enough interest in the picture to try coloring it. Just for kicks, I used my old Swiss Color colored pencils instead of my Prismacolors, and OH MY GOODNESS, I do not know how I used to color with those things. The lead is so hard, and it's really difficult to blend the colors together. I think I've been spoiled. ^^;

Anywho, Chad is pretty cool - I was excited to color someone with purple hair, seeing that I have no purple-haired characters of my own. I can't help but think that he looks like a happy purple-haired Sasuke in this picture though... o_o;
