Bound by Necessity

*sighs* Never again am I going to put so much effort into a contest entry... and then forget to submit it to the contest. D: This was done for [Kako], over at Gaia, who was having a 'draw my character' sort of contest. I only did this because the contest subject was a drow character (er, half drow/half winged elf, but I did stick in the other full-blooded drow too), and I was kind of enthused to be drawing someone else's dark elf DnD characters.

I like the picture overall, although the background is lame and much too dark. Still, I don't think I should be putting so much time and energy into a contest entry... I spent hours on those wings, and I don't think I'll ever attempt anything so semirealistic again. It's not like I'm guaranteed a win or anything either. >_<

The original sketch was done in pencil, but I did the outlining and coloring in Photoshop. I really really like how the hair came out, and the wings aren't half bad, but the rest of the coloring is crap.
