Everyone, say hello to Tyrza Tel'vynn. Bit of a one-shot character, I'm afraid, but I like how she turned out. Tyrza was inspired by a contest on the FAC forums to design an 'evil twin' of an original character. She's an evil twin for my little drow priestess-in-training, Ko'dakka Del'bren'shazoren. Well, more like a rival than a twin.
Tyrza came out looking pretty much how I imagine Ko'dakka would look if she took better care of herself (ie. actually brushed her hair from time to time and got normal amounts of sleep). They wear the same outfit because they are both in cleric school and have to wear uniforms. Tyrza's family is weathier though, so she has nicer accessories. ^^; Ah, and the Tel'vynn family emblem is the all-seeing eye, hence the necklace.
At first glance, one might think Tyrza and Ko'dakka were related - especially because they're both the same age, same height (they're both somewhat short for their age), and in the same class. However, that's where the similarities end. Where Ko'dakka is moody and quiet, Tyrza is cheerful and outgoing. While Ko'dakka struggles with the simplest of spells, Tyrza is at the head of her class and is always eager to show off her latest accomplishments. In front of the teachers, Tyrza puts on a show of helpfulness, but she, like any other drow, is very self-centered and manipulative. Behind that smiling exterior is a cruel and sharp mind, and she's always looking for ways to pull down her classmates in order to further her own successes.
Naturally, Tyrza and Ko'dakka can't stand one another. Tyrza, because she views Ko'dakka as worthless and a waste of time. Ko'dakka, because she resents those more skilled than her (which would be practically everyone). If I were to ever write out an angsty drama about my Del'bren'shazorens, there would probably be a lot of catfighting between these two.
Drawn and colored completely in Photoshop. Sad that I drew an original entry for the contest, like, a month ago, then scrapped it and sat around without making another entry until just the other day. And it really only took a few hours too. I guess I'm just lazy. I love how the spell came out, and I had fun working with glowy blue-green lighting. ^_^
