Pocky and Bubby

Back in high school, I used to do a lot of fanart for TAITO videogames, like Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands. Now, I think it's time for a reprise for this year's Valentine's Day, a special picture with Pocky and Bubby!

Of course, Bubby is from the Bubble Bobble series (shown here in his Rainbow Islands form), and Pocky is the titular heroine of Pocky and Rocky. These two actually meet in Stage 06 of the NES Rainbow Islands, if you can get the Big Diamond for that stage. Stage 06 is a Pocky and Rocky themed level, and for the end-stage cutscene, Bubby and Pocky actually flirt a little bit before Bobby reminds him he has a girlriend. So You can think of today's fanart as a what-if scenerio, if Bubby was ever on the rebound and reconnected with Pocky.
