"The Clabbert is a tree-dwelling creature, in appearance something likea cross between a monkey and a frog...the smooth, hairless skin is a mottled green [and] the hands and feet are webbed...the head has short horns, and the wide mouth, which appears to be grinning, is full of razor sharp teeth."<br />

The most unusual feature of the Clabbert is the large pustule on the middle of its forehead. It turns scarlet and flashed when it senses danger, and wizards once kept these creatures as pets in their gardens as early warning of apporaching Muggles. This practice has since been banned, because the sight of many glowing pustules in a wizard's tree, while decorative, drew too much attention to neighboring Muggles who strained to ask why their neighbors still had their Christmas lights up in July.
