I spent my 4th of July making sure that my lifemate and his son don't blow themselves up. (same as the last 8 years) It is usually stressful, but wasn't so bad this year. They kept the destruction to a minimum. :)
I like the concept behind the holiday, but don't like the whole idea of people (most of which shouldn't have fire) running around with fire. But I do like the pretty, pretty fireworks.

Haha, that reminds me of Guy Fawkes night, loads of bonfires and fireworks, you can't sleep it's that noisy!

Guy Fawkes night? Lots of fireworks and bonfires sound like fun. :) As long as everyone is safe of course. :P

You might not have heard of Guy Fawkes night, we celebrate the night Guy Fawkes tried (and failed) to blow up the Houses of Parliament with gunpowder, hence the fireworks and bonfires!

I can't remember why he did, but he ended up being hung, drawn and quartered (hung and cut into 4 bits) as he was found guilty of treason.
We're a bloodthirsty lot, aren't we?

Yes, the two of them like to play with fireworks. They purposely buy bottled pop so they can blow up the bottles.
*sigh* Men.
But this year wasn't so bad. They were less dangerous than in previous years, and the weather was wonderful. People were complaining it was cold, but I loved the fact I wasn't sweating to death on the patio.

I am facinated by fire, but I have a deep respect for it. My "fun" element is water, even though I almost drown last year. :S

Damn....I have forgotten to draw a picture for this day. I have written it huge and fat onto my calendar, but...wrrrarrr! Sorry that I didn't draw one. But next year, promised....

Thank you Ben. I know you will get one up next year. :D I almost didn't get this one up in time. It was almost midnight when I posted this. I drew it on the 3rd, inked it in the morning on the 4th, I was going to color it, but remembered that the ink needed to dry before I could color it. (otherwise the ink smears) So I colored it at night at a friend's house then made it home just in time to post it. :P
