LSH: Bouncing Boy

LSH: Bouncing Boy by RurouniKJS
Description
Description
Over the years, LSH has been revamped or entirely relaunched several times. This character is one of the reasons why. Although well-loved by longtime Legion fans, BB simply can't be taken seriously enough by average comics readers. Too many have passed on LSH for such superficial reasons. Thus, DC has attempted to "update" LSH repeatedly and in doing so have wiped out such fun characters.

Bouncing Boy accidentally drank some formula and gained the power to inflate his tubby body to become a human superball.

I'm surprised you dare put that style of art up in an art place like this. I suggest you take it off, no one here is going to like it.

If you don't want to be misunderstood, make sure to write what you mean. Correct grammar is important. Even though I can (and did) realize you really meant my pic shouldn't be on FAC, I responded to what you actually wrote. First life lesson of the day there.
In the interest of full disclosure, I confess that I've been stringing this little dialogue along to see just how differently we see Fan Art Central. Your initial statement of surprise that I "dare" put this sort of artwork was interesting. I wasn't aware that this pic was very daring at all. At first I thought you were reacting to my choice of character, a then-obscure comic book character who's gained a new measure of popularity thanks to a cartoon. But then I realized you were taking shots at my art style or something.
Second life lesson of the day: you are not the arbiter of what is worthy to be posted on Fan Art Central.
I certainly don't put artwork up to make people like it, which is why I won't remove it despite your suggestion. Why should I? It's not offensive or illegal or unethical, and it's available online should I ever want to show someone that pic of Bouncing Boy I drew a few years back.
Fan Art Central is NOT just designed for young, unaccomplished fanartists who only draw a certain style of character or art (or whatever "normal" fanart is supposed to be). One look at the Featured Art or Featured Artist on the main page is enough proof of that. It's more accurate to say that FAC is for artists whether great or beginners (and folks like us in the middle) who happen to focus on drawing other peoples' creations.
So keep drawing and post what you like, regardless of what people think of it. That's my credo. Because as you said, an artplace is for showing off pictures, and that's what I'm doing. What I'm NOT doing is fishing for compliments or criticism, although I welcome both.
This has been a fun, if odd correspondence! Keep drawing!

Wow, ok. I have no idea where all this came from but one thing: this isn't about the comic, I've never heard about it before. It's about inflation, which though FAC accepts it they highly dislike it and doesn't want it on the website. I've asked someone. And though this is a website for everyone in the whole entire world, its was originally made for fanart and now accept all sorts of stuff. And though there are artist from everywhere doing every kind of art style an extremely large percent are those fangirls. And most of them are freaked out and disgusted by inflation. That's all I'm saying.

Inflation? Now I'm really confused. What is "inflation?" I assume you're not referring to the rising cost of living (what's usually meant by the term) or perhaps the rising amount of fanart on this site.
The only thing I can figure is that "inflation" is a fanart thing where artists draw normally slim characters as morbidly obese or something. Am I close to the mark, or way off? If so, it really explains a lot of this conversation.

Wow, ok. This explains it. You draw the style but don't even know what it is. Try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fat_fetishism
General description is artwork that consists of people that are extremely fat to the stage where they are balloons...they don't originally have to be thin but there is also rapid weight gain art too.

Wow. That's incredible. Who knew there was a whole freaky art subculture focused on obesity? The Wiki article was really kind of yucky.
No, I'm certainly not trying to draw fat fetishism at all. Sure, I think plus-sized women can be (and often are) very beautiful, but that's just because women in general can be (and often are) very beautiful. But no, in the case of Bouncing Boy, who debuted in 1961, his super power is to inflate like a ball and ricochet like a superball. And he's always been a hefty guy, even when not powered up. I was just staying true to the character.
I'm still shaking my head over this. Thanks for showing me something new to watch out for, and take this correspondence as an example of how things aren't always what they seem. :)

This is really odd for me. It appears you didn't know exact what you were drawing. And I know its was sucky, sorry. There's also this is you want to read it, I think its better- http://dwafpriest.deviantart.com/art/what-is-inflation-art-13926987
It's not just women that are inflated though. Bouncing boy appears to be one of those rare male inflation comics. It is for sure inflation for inflationist, when drawing their balloon girls (or boys), usually explain they they got so big by either drinking a lot of fluid or inhaling some sort of gas such as helium.
