Description
Up in the kingdom of God in Heaven, there was an angel named Lucifer. He was of the highest class of angels, the seraphim. Being the most perfect creature created by God, Lucifer was loved and treasured above all others. Known also as the Light Bearer, he was revered for being the most beautiful and powerful of all angels. So great was Lucifer that God denied him nothing and granted him privileges that others can only dream of.
In Heaven, Lucifer sat right beside the Seat of God, even above that of St. Michael, head administrator of Heaven. However, whenever God left his high throne to oversee Earth, Lucifer would secretly sit in God’s place and proclaim to the silence around him. “I am God.”
When the humans, Adam and Eve, were created, God told the angels, “Thou shall bow to this image of God.” Lucifer, however, questioned and refused. “Why should he, the superior being, who was conceived before man, kneel for them?” Many of the other angels who heard his remark agreed and defied God’s degree.
It was then that Lucifer decided to challenge God for supreme authority. “I will ascend to the Heavens and above God’s stars will I place my throne.” One third of the Heaven’s angels joined Lucifer’s rebellion to overthrow their Creator. The war of the Heavens began and the skies were splashed red with celestial blood as angels were pitted, brethren against brethren.
In the end, God grew tired of the dispute and ripped apart the clouds that separated Heaven and Earth. All of the insurgents and the neutrals were tossed, mercilessly, our of Heaven and straight into Hell. Two of the strongest Angels of War were employed to keep the renegade Angels from reentering the Heavenly gates.
Having lost his wings in the battle, Lucifer was unable to ascent back up to Heaven. Hell became his domain and the rest of the fallen, one third of the angels of the Heaven’s Angels, became his subjects. Lucifer was condemned to spending an eternity with the worst of humanity, the very ones that he despised and looked down on.
