Sorry for not posting anything for a long time. (Insert excuse concerning school here)
Actually this picture IS for school. I'm creating a manga about a certain topic in Japanese studies and this is one of the characters representing it.
This is Maki, a 14-year-old idol who likes to draw and somewhat of an airhead. I also drew a background too, but it was fast and lazy so I'm currently working on it.

Japanese is not an easy language to grasp easily. It requires at least a year just to get the basics down. And half of that to master the basic writing system. And even HALF of that get familiar with it lol. Learning on your own is usually harder, even though anime and/or manga helps, it usually does not give you enough to create an actual conversation with an actual Japanese. Plus learning by yourself is only good if you grasp the basics. Other than that you need a native or someone who already knows the basics to help you out.
