Original Description
Molly Grue From my favorite book "The Last Unicorn" by Peter S. Beagle. I saw the animated Rankin Bass movie first, and was bowled over by the subversive tone and mesmerizing animation (though low-budget and not very fluid), and quickly picked up the book and was hooked!
Molly is my favorite character; a fantastic subversion of the archetypal maiden who falls for a swashbuckling hero (who, in this case, turns out to be better at bragging than any actual swashbuckling). As far as I am concerned, she is the light in the darkness of the story.
As for the piece, it's better than anything I've done so far, but it's still really wonky. The mouse I had was one of those mice that had a rolling ball on the top (instead of the bottom) that moved the cursor, so the lines are incredibly clumsy.
Thank god for Photoshop!
