TeeJay87This one looks like late 1990s Garfield from comics strips. Kindly thank you for such lovely gift ! :)

PS. I've been forgetting to show this page about marketing statistics achieved by PAWS Inc. http://sales.garfield.com/Garfield_2014_p.pdf - this must be the reason, why do many leftists hate Garfield and his universe. xD

SaltwaterGarfield is amazingly popular all over the world!  :D

Leftists don't like successful creators and entrepreneurs.
Because they are jealous of people with more skills and wits....
(that is to say a lot of people   LOL )

Maybe another reason why so many leftists hate Garfield is that the creator is American.

TeeJay87Even in Asia, especially in countries not fond of American presence. Last month I discovered, that Japanese have website about Garfield in their language http://garfield-jp.com/character/index.html , which is surprising for a nation aggressively promoting own animation and comics with all the campaign about anime and manga being superior than non-Japanese stuff.

Ironically, one of the first video games with Garfield was developed in Japan http://garfield.wikia.com/wiki/A_Week_of_Garfield_%28%E3%82%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%83%89%E3%81%AE%E4%B8%80%E9%80%B1%E9%96%93_G%C4%81firudo_no_Isshukan and never sold abroad due to licence issues.

But the funniest part is the way Japanese messed up names of the characters, as can be seen in the comment I left below the article. Some of them sound amusing, but couple of them are simply unpleasant for ears, when read aloud. xD

SaltwaterThat's the problem with multi-lingual versions.  :-)
Sometimes the translation looks funny, sometimes odd, sometimes irrelevant,
and other times it may even look a bit gross.
