After a Self-portrait of CZIGÁNY.
Dezső  CZIGÁNY  (1883-1937) was a Hungarian painter,
from the group of "The Eight", which was founded in 1909.

This is my own interpretation in a Fauvist style, (very different from the original),
painted in vivid and contrasted colours and bold strokes.

Painted in Corel Painter, using custom brushes.

Framed in Photoshop

This is a small present for Allita2.  :-)

TeeJay87I've heard about this painter, though not much.

Looks like quite interesting person. :)

SaltwaterSadly he is not very famous outside his native country,
except maybe a little bit in the limitrophe countries (of the Eastern Block).

alitta2Thanks much for the links!
I've heard about another group of artists called the "Gresham-circle", consisting the ones who lived in the town of Szentendre.
Maybe the most notable of them were Aurél Bernáth, (who was considered to be the leader of the group) and the sculptor Béni Ferenczy, whose artworks are now exhibited in the museum named after his family (his father and sister were both painters, but Béni was known about his graphical works as well).

alitta2You're welcome :)
The exhibition is great, even the museum itself isn't that huge, as only a few rooms are there for their works.

alitta2Wow, thanks so much for this gift ;-)
I haven't seen this picture in real yet, but I know it from photos. The title of this self portrait means "The Green Monster" :D
He did at least 3 self potraits, and all of them were made from the same view of point.
According to some sources, his art-style was inspired by the works of Paul Cézanne.

SaltwaterYes, I agree with you.
While I was searching Internet about his work, I saw a landscape that was totally in the style of Cézanne.
Maybe it is a little less obvious for the portraits, where he has also integrated his own personal touch.
