Cute indeed, but I assume he's doesn't really like going to school - not if this uniform alone would be enough reason for him to dislike it :D

Garfield is too lazy for school, and too lazy for most activities requiring a minimum of efforts.
Garfield's favourite activities are mostly eating and sleeping.
And when he is in good mood, cheating on his girlfriends,
and playing silly tricks on his only real friend, that poor dog Odie!

One of Jon's nieces must be responsible for dressing Garfield in such fashion, but at least it's just sailor-like outfit. Our orange tabby was forced to wear even sillier outfits ! xD

Of course it is totally out of fashion, but personally I think this sailor outfit for young boys was quite delightful.
I have seen it in a painting by Monet, (his son).
Also young boys in Bécassine, and a few other occurences, here and there...
