UrRu Sand Spiral

I know it's not a sketch and I'll probably get a notice for this. But I worked hard on this. -le sigh- <br />

Whomever had seen Jim Henson’s “The Dark Crystal” would probably recognize this. One of the mystics had drawn this on the ground with different color of sand/salt. This was done in my last year of High School. The project was we had to do a mosaic. And everyone already had their ideas and they were quite easy and little compared to mine. (not trying to brag here ^__^; ) I was trying to get ideas that night, I think at the time I was still writing the fanfiction with Chantal and I was in a Laby-mood when I went online. I was trying to get some good Labyrinth sketches that maybe I can do for the project; I was at the time thinking of doing Alph and Ralph’s shields or something close to Jareth’s pendant; I came across more of Brian Froud’s sketches and I was intrigued by the sand spiral. I was like “ooooh. I must do this one,” So that’s how it started.<br />
Next I needed material…the teacher had brought several different materials to work with and I saw these thick floor tiles (or was it counter??) and they were the perfect color that matched the colored picture I printed out!! ^_____^ The base is made out of wood that was cut by the shop class next door (I haven’t measure it so don’t ask how big it is…I think it’s the size of a pizza pan) and I spent 2 weeks breaking the tiles with a hammer down in my basement, goggles and towel safety!! –lol- Drove my mother crazy. –lol- Anyways, all the pieces are held by grout…I did have to wait a few of the tiles black though…I couldn’t find any tiles that was close. Circles are HARD, DAMNIT!! <br />
Of course I had to take something that was hard and had circles with odd angled pieces. –lol- There’s my long process, sorry for the read. –lol-<br />
