Storm Hawks OC: Gunner

Another OC from my Thunderbirds Squadron.
I kinda "Anime" designed his hair, and I never knew making Hazel eyes was such a trial. O_o
I do enjoy making up these weapons though. Granted, a Tonfa Baton isn't too flashy or anything, but those things can do some damage if you know how to use them!

I did not make the background because I still suck at backgrounds. the background belongs to the talented art producers of Nerd Corps.

Dislikes: People who are too Strict, Disrespect
Hobbies: Maintaining upkeep of the Ship’s energy cannons and Crystal Caliber guns
Family: Has a pretty extensive family back on Terra Rex

Personality: He’s an easy going guy who has a tendency to procrastinate basic duties and chores. Some would call him lazy, but when it comes to the Gun Deck of the Argo, he’s the most diligent worker on the ship.
Anyone who registers as “Up Tight” to Gunner, he will take any and all opportunity to mess with that person, either by practical jokes or crass humor.
He loves flirting with girls, so long as they are “legal”. He will take a jab at Soara every now and then, but she is quick to set him straight with a harsh physical “No.” He does respect her, as the Sky Knight, but still sees her as “fair game” to flirt with.
Gunner, despite his passion for guns, is no marksman, and he may come across as a slacker to most, but Gunner is a seasoned fighter and can be most formidable in close hand to hand combat with his Energy Tonfa Baton.
He has a high level of respect for Smitty, mainly because of the friendship they’ve had over the past 7 years, and Smitty is the only person whose rules Gunner can live under and still feel free to be himself.
He is also the only Thunderbird whose Skimmer hosts installed energy blasters in the wings.

Background: Gunner was born to a highly esteemed family on Terra Rex, and he was no stranger to the Rules and Traditions that all Rexians are known to religiously uphold. He grew up in the shadow of his older brothers Magnum and Maverick who trained to apply for positions in the Rex Guardians Squadron. His parents held him to the same high standards that his brothers had set in their quest to be Rex Guardians, but Gunner really held no interest in joining the squadron, or upholding any of the strict traditions they preached. Regardless, his parents drove him into training to meet with their expectations of him.
Gunner found an escape by hiding out in the local Gun Smith’s workshop. There he gained his interest and as well, discovered he had a talent in gun engineering, and upon watching Gun Testing, he fell in love with this new passion.
He began to go to the smith’s more regularly instead of attending his training at the Squadron academy. Eventually, he dropped out of the academy and his newfound talent grew into a mastery of Gun Engineering. When Gunner’s family found out about his delinquency and learned of his secret get away, his father demanded that Gunner give up his chosen lifestyle and return to the path that his family had set for him. Gunner refused and decided to run away. He worked many jobs around many Terras, making and testing guns for all sorts of shipbuilders.
Though he enjoyed his work, he felt very depressed with his feet on the ground and would spend his free time flying on a skimmer to lift his spirits. Gunner, though he merely flew for self stimulation, proved to be an exceptional flier, thanks to the training he had received back on Terra Rex.
When he was 16, his talents drew the attention of a Sky Knight, who inquired if the young Gun Smith had an interest in joining his squadron as an Armament Engineer and Wingman. Gunner was intrigued by the offer and agreed to go.

Energy Tonfa Baton: The design is a lot like an energy staff, only shorter and compact. Crystals can be interchanged to give a different effect and discharge.
The weapon is holstered/sheathed on the “Gun Belt” on Gunner’s right leg.
