This is another crossover pic I did. This is what goes on aboard the Anime Whaler. They heave away in unison, singing away, as they pull upon a rope, heaving up the mass sails, or lowering the boat for the next hunt. This was inspired by yet another shanty called "Rio Grande." If you would like to hear what inspired this pic, go to:

http://www.contemplator.com/sea/riogrand.html

As you can see, the boys are enthusiastic in their work as they heave away at the rope. That is except for young Kira Yamato who is a newby sailor on board the whaler. You can tell that he's new because he's not used to the rigorous work of a whaler like the others. Even in the last pic "Anime Whaling," he flinches as the whale breeches. The first hunt for newby sailors was in every way frightening and at times the first and last time. Whalers would die by either drowning, capsizing of their boat, lost out adrift, or having every bone in their body crushed by the shear weight of a breeching whale. One young whaler was even eaten whole by a bull sperm whale. It just goes to show that life on the high seas was and still is a dangerous and treacherous one.
