Yes once again uploading my homework. *laughs* I was able to complete this one this evening. Hooray! 10 more to go.
Anyway, I sort of took on the idea the movie had for Durza, I thought his costume was really cool. As for Arya... I thought that the movie version wasn't very good. Personally... I like my elves to have pointy ears... So yay!
As for the scene, well this is the opening chapter for those of you who don't know, where the Shade captures Arya (like the title) :p
The most difficult part of this had to be the fire. I must have spent most of my time working on those flames. I think it turned out nice though, so I guess it was worth it.
Materials: Drawn by hand with an HB pencil, and colored in Corel Painter 8.
Time taken: About 5 - 6 hours. I think I am getting faster. :P

i agree elves should have pointy ears and that is how eragon first finds out she is and elf when she is unconcious because her hair moves to reveal her ears in the book once again great picture!

I love Durza!! He was my all time favorite from the book! I was crushed when my sister told me he died at the end x_x;;Anyways, I like the angle of this picture and the flames too!

Okay. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you drew Durza. He was way too grubby-old-man-ish in the movie. I love the flames. They came out really nicely. Ehm ... I love the whole picture.How can elves not have pointy ears? (glares at the idiot producers)

I must say something that I believe the movie missed: In the book, it specifically points out the scar on Durza and the fact that his skin is white. I despise the movie for getting EVERYTHING wrong. Eragon looked like he was 20. he was supposesed to be 16. Arya is an elf; her ears were not pointed.I know I'm complaining to the wrong person, but seeing this just made me want to. Nothing personal

Arya turned out to look like Aeris, don'cha think? *giggle* ^^I really like how Durza came out. In the movie, I think that they made him look a little too umm....I don't know....uhhhhh....old and creepy. Sure he was supposed to look kind of possessed, because he's a shade, but they could have made him a bit more attractive. Such as your version xD
And I about cried when I found out that Arya didn't have pointy ears in the movie...
