Mekka

Description

New character, made on a whim, Mekka! I need a better name though. I don't like names made off of whims. Sorry for the lack of background. When I made this, it was just a quick sketch.

She's my self-insert/RP character for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

She's a metalbender, and has a special ability to control magnetism, which means that she can control earth and sand to a degree as well. (though sand is easier... She has a real tough time with earth.)

She wears black overalls and a gray shirt, with dark blue and purple patches. Her hair is a coal-black color with a dark-purple light, and is in a "Miho"-like style. Her eyes are the same purple. Her accessories are goggles, fingerless gloves, and a fanny-pack belt. She also has a pair of metal strips strapped to her forearms in order to protect them from sparks while working, and always has grease smudges on her face.

Yes, that is a dragon on her shoulder. A little, wingless Metal dragon. She calls him Magnet, since he seems to attract Magnetite particles.

Mekka and her powers are my ideas, and don't belong to anyone but me!

Magnet adverted his gaze. Truthfully, he wanted nothing to do with that metal monstrocity that the firebenders called a factory. Sure, it was as an all-eat buffet, but what good was that if he couldn't eat any of it?

Hearing a sound in the distance, Magnet jumped off her shoulder, and hid behind some rocks, as a group of firenation soldiers headed for the factory.

Mekka had gone back to work, not realizing that the little dragon had gone after the waterbender. As he scuttled along the cave, he used magnatism to float off the ground. Spotting her, he gave off a bark-like chirp, and jumped onto her back, looking for coins.

Rikai gathered up her extra water and walked up to the immobilized men. "think before you mess around with little kids whenever you come down here, m'kay?" she said, then looked around making sure the boy had gotten to safety. When she saw he was gone, she nodded to herself, then noticed the same girl that she had seen in the store sitting on a rock near the factory. Rikai smiled to herself, knowing she had been watching the whole time.

Mekka stopped shortly after, and took a quick look around, looking for anyone who could see her. Satisfied that there wasn't anyone around, she struck a pose, and focused on the rock. It was hard, trying to find the little, metal fragments ingrained in the rock, and once she finally had them, she forced them apart.

She wiped her forhead, leaving another grease smear, and breathed heavily. "I hate earthbending..." She muttered before heading inside the cave she had created, and closed it loosely because of her exhaustion.

Rikai took the long way around the small town, trying her best to remember the spot where the girl had been standing. After getting to the outskirts of the town, she started climbing up the rocks, trying to find the girl.

Mekka was already deep inside the cave. She had closed it loosely enough for a small opening to let in fresh air though. She wouldn't want to suffacate in here. She paused to glare at the little dragon, who was attracting magnetite particles again. "Magnet, I'm not made of metal. Quit trying to modify my skin."

Rikai went to the spot where the girl had been sitting, but she was nowhere near. she checked the surrounding area, but couldnt find anything. exhausted from climbing up and down the rocks, she leaned against the rock mekka used to block her cave, not knowing she was only a few feet away.

Some of the rocks crumbled underneath the waterbender, proof of her lousy cover-up job. Mekka heard the crash, and looked back, wide-eyed. "Don't know what that was, Magnet. I'm not gunna find out!" She said, hurrying her pace.

Comming up to the end of her tunnel, she simply kicked the rocks, making them tumble. She didn't need to do a better job here, since no-one went around the back of the factory. Hopping down the few boulders, she headed towards the back enterance of the factory.

Rikai managed to pull herself to the opening and peered inside. she saw a light coming from the other side. "ahah!" Rikai took out her water and bent it onto the opening, then froze it, expanding the opening just enough for her to stick her head in.

The sound of hte rock went un-noticed, since the ruckus of noise the workers were making drowned it out. Mekka also didn't notice, and was busy concentrating on a large pipe.

Mekka was currently worrying over a steam pipe which was about to burst. She had already pinched the cracks in the pipe closed with her metal bending, but there was a block further down the pipe, causing it to build up.

Rikai was still looking around, then, finally, she found the girl. she looked like she was fussing over a pipe. The pipe looked fit to burst. should i do something? that looks like steam...... as she considered her decision, she saw that there was a block in the pipe, and if the flow of steam wasnt stopped, the pipe would explode, and there would be casualties. "no use thinkin' about it now..." Rikai stood up behind the rock, and did her best to cool the steam from afar, condensing into water, and relieving the pressure on the pipe.

Mekka sighed in relief as it started to cool down, and quietly used her magnatism to make the pipe's peices fasten together. "That was a close one, eh Magnet? Magnet?" She looked at the chirping dragon who was biting at her overalls, trying to get her attention.

Haha. Seriously. I really do need to use my characters in an RP.. all the ones on Aisenfield are too slow... I need to RP with my characters in order to get their personality. I don't know how many of them I have with no determined personality. ~Girls are ranting...~

Mekka was browzing the outside of a metal wares shop, looking for anything that could help her in her work. Due to the fact that she was a metal-bender, her clothing made other stay away. In fact, she had to sneak out of the factory, since the other workers knew she was a bit of a kleptomaniac, but she needed some new tools. The other workers were hiding their own.

Mekka sighed, not finding anything interesting that could help her. She turned on her heal, and started walking back towards the factory. She didn't really aprove of the fact that the fire nation was taking over the earth kingdom.. again.. but what was she to do? She needed the money.

Rikai saw the girl walk out of the store out of the corner of her eye. Again, she considered going to talk to her, and yet again, her shyness kept her from doing so. She looked towards a building in the distance: a factory with the flame insignia on it. Ugh.... fire nation.... she thought. you'd think Fire Lord Zuko would be able to control his governors...

Mekka started heading up the rocks towards a small opening high in the rocks, just big enough to crawl into, at first glance. It was her way of sneaking in and out of the factory. Picking up the small, grey, dog-earred-horned dragon on her way up, she sighed. "Nothing good at the market today, Magnet. We'll try again next week..."

Rikai had continued walking down the dirt road, when she saw two men harassing a boy on the street. Rikai might be shy, but her sense of justice well overpowered her shyness. putting one hand on her water-pouch, she strted walking towards the men. she saw they were fire nation, but she didnt care. she just kept walking towards them.

Mekka had seen a couple of fire nation soldiers harrasing a kid, but she couldn't do anything about it if she wanted to keep her job. when she heard a bigger ruckus comming from them, she looked back, suprised to see what looked like a water bender threatening them.

The men charged at her, holding their swords above them. no defenses. Rikai slipped in between the two men as they charged, freezing some of her water to the ground to trip them. The man fall on their faces, dropping their swords. Rikai laughs and gathers up her water again. "having fun yet?"

Mekka held back a giggle, watching the drama unfold before her. "This is much more fun than watching the co-workers fight over goggles!" She laughed, swinging her legs. She didn't dare joing the fight though.

Rikai grinned from ear to ear as she watched the men scramble for their swords. they stood up again, wary of charging at her again. Rikai noticed that one of the men was inching his way around her. trying to surround me, eh? she thought, i dont think so. Splitting her water between both hands, she spun around once, shooting ice shards out in a circle. the two men get pinned to a building behind them.
