What I love the most about Harry Potter isn't the characters (though I do harbor much Weasly and Draco love), its the universe, the idea of magic and the mixture of logic and humor with which Rowlings writes it. I love how all sorts of random, fun things happen in the background of the main action, from magic candies to ministry workers with horns.
I reread The Goblet of Fire recently and drew this after I read one of my favorite lines in all of the books:
'"At last they got the fire lit, though it was at least another hour before it was hot enough to cook anything. There was plenty to watch while they waited, however. Their tent seemed to be pitched right alongside a kind of thoroughfare to the field, and the Ministry members kept hurrying up and down it greeting Mr. Weasly cordially as they passed. Mr. Weasly kept up a running commentary mainly for Harry's and Hermione's benefit; his own children knew too much about the Ministry to be greatly interested.
"That was Cuthbert Mockridge, Head of the Goblin Liason Officie...Here comes Gilbert Wimple; he's with the Committee on Experimental Charms; he's had those horns for a while now..."'
Medium: Pencil. Originally I was going to ink it but decided I'd loose a lot of detials that I really liked that way (I love ink, but pencil does have a nice soft look to it that works on really round lines like his face). I want his boots. :D
