Impulse Remix

Done for Weringo Week at Project Rooftop (http://www.tencentticker.com/projectrooftop/), a redesign of the Impulse costume originally designed by the late great Mark Weringo.

I've always loved the big-haired, big-footed speedster, and his costume is one of the classics. I love the vertical nature of it, the red lightning-bordered stripe over a white bodysuit. As much as I loved that stripe, I always wondered at the practicality of a mostly-white costume, especially for a speedster prone to trouble. For my redesign I kept I tried to keep in mind the aerodynamic suits and helments worn for downhill speed cycling. The faceplate would also function to keep pesky insects and other airborn debris out of his mouth and nose.
