NaNo Sketches

I keep forgetting to upload stuff on here... xP I have a few pictures to bring up, but since I feel stupid uploading three in a day, I'll just do it over the next few days. As for the background on this, I started doing NaNoWriMo on the 13th of November rather than the 1st and it's kept me very busy writing, but I'm still fitting in some doodles for the novel too. :) They're ony 2/3 of the pictures I've got, and the second one is way better than this, but you'll just have to enjoy this for now. *brick'd*

Some sketches of characters and creatures in my NaNo story. The two big fishy-people (khen) are the main characters; the greenish one is Tanlen, the true main character, and the blue one is Vokim. He isn't actually in the story yet, so I'm not sure exactly how he gets dragged into Tanny's venture, but it's gonna be intense. (Hopefully. And hopefully it'll be better than the 'Hey you wanna go save the world with me?' 'Hey, you're a weird looking girl and I bet you won't let me say no so... whatever' 'Yay!' *tackleglomp* scene at the bottom. o.O I'm pretty sure those two doodles weren't related originally, but now they are.)

The red khen is Tanlen's mom... she's not particularly important but I like her color so she's in there too. I love how she's got all the impossibly awkward positions. That pic where she's by the mangrove trees is especially bad... I don't think she could ever actually sit like that, not to mention the mangroves roots stop at the water and there's no sand for them to sit in... dunno what went wrong there.

The pterodactyl head thing is a rendra, a big, mean species that live in the skies of Tanlen's planet. They're a little bigger than Quetzalcoatlus (<-- pretty-much the best pic of one ever, by the way) and have recently been evolving or something. :0 It's kinda freaked Tanny out, except that was a while ago and now she's got bigger fish to fry. (Excepting the fact that khen don't cook their food.)

Anyway, Tanlen is gonna get eaten by one of those guys one day because she likes to spend all her spare time skygazing (which is also badly illustrated ). Luckily she's good at booking it and since she's always looking up into the air, it's kind of hard to miss one of those monsters coming at you.

The ant thing is a nasty alien species called a tagra. Nobody likes them, but they've got a lot of big, nasty guns so no one can do anything about it.

Sooo... yep. A very sketchy concept sketch thing. Thought I'd throw them on parchment just to try that out, and I actually do quite like drawing/coloring on it now.
