Every once in a while I play around with lineless... but I really don't think I'm meant for it. Maybe it's just that I get bored before I actually get to details or put enough time in for a picture to actually be good (this only took me a couple hours), but... eh.
Anyways, this is Opota, Tanlen's older brother. He doesn't appear much in the book, but he's kind of her driving force. If it weren't for him, she never would have left at all (no, they don't get in a fight that offends her so much she runs away). Having recently taken a mate and moved out, he's not seen as much by the family, but Tanlen and Opota were always very, very close growing up and she pretty-much hangs on to every little thing he says like it's some sort of gospel teaching.
I think his left(?) arm looks kind of awkward, considering the way the rest of his body is facing, but I do like his gills so it's okay. *tomato'd* Edit: Fixed his arm a little. Still doesn't seem totally right, but it's better than before.
I need to stop drawing khen like they totally drift along upright with their tails behind/below them. It's totally not how they move, but... it's how I keep drawing them. o.O I've only got a few sketches of them actually swimming like they naturally would (well, and those little shadows in the background). Weird.
