Once In A Blue Moon

It sways in the gentle breeze,
Spirit longing to be set free.
Crescent Moon bloodied by the black of Fate,
Bejeweled chains of Hate imprisoning he which desires freedom,
As onyx wings of innocence flutter gently in the night.
Thoughts of such taint never leaving,
Growing more with each day’s passing.
Overtaking,
Eating away the Spirit,
Just as the poison acid of the ivy slowly erodes the strong stone of these brick walls.
Longing of a different life;
Past.
Present.
Future.
Shadowing all else,
Eclipsing every path of hope and light,
Each road as unseen, as the Blue Moon.
Rare and unnatural—unreal.
Only upon the Blue Moon shall that which has been caged, be set free.
Only Once In A Blue Moon.

Meh, I wanted to write a poem or something for this pic, even thought this isn't up to my usual par where poetry is concerned, but it was written rather quickly and I didn't feel like killing myself over it.

Just an original pic of some random being. It was actually started back in January of 2005 and I just finished it a week ago>.<

The scanner totally f-ed it up--the purple didn't come out the way I wanted it to be seen on the comp...>.< Oh well... perhaps when I get to school I'll see if I can scan it better.
