There are a couple of tricks to those games. Firstly these games are rigged to only allow a win after X number of plays. Work this out with the following method.
1. Wait near the game but do not play. Make sure you have something to keep a count of the number of people who play.
2. When someone wins, start counting. Next time someone wins, you should have your number but the machine has a limited grab strength meaning some of the prizes are unwinable. If a win is about to come up but the player loses, they went for too big a prize.
3. After you have confirmed the number of plays for a win and have an idea of the grab strength, wait until a win is about to come up then move in.
4. When actually playing, wait for the claw to stop swinging before lowering it, this will improve your chances.
