...because I've never drawn a fox before, here is my first try at a fox anthro in -- well, ever.

As a race, this type of fox is one both civilized and intelligent, yet one with a powerful respect for vulpine heritage (hence, for example, their lack of robes or other clothes). This fox is a hunter, armed with a bow for shooting and a knife for skinning and cleaning the downed prey. Barely visible on his right shoulder is a sling to store his bow with when he needs to use both arms for a task. His quiver of arrows is strapped about his leg because it is considered a 'stealthier' placement than the traditional, over-the-shoulder arrow quiver.

KFelidaeI agree with the general concensus -- the hips are a bit too skinny, the muzzle a tad too thick for a fox, ect. I think what got you was the fur. On the muzzle, anyway. I saw the slender fox-like muzzle peeking out beneath the fur you layed down on the muzzle. But if you have a cat or a dog, look at their face. The fur lays almost flat there, even on realitively long-haired animals. It almost lays like human hair across the arm, lacking floof.

I'm gonna give you a great big thumbs up, though. A fox hunter is rarely done well, even though so many people try. I think the Robin Hood influence gets to artists sometimes, and they're pulled to draw it too Disney-ish. But this is really something new. Much applause and kittens.

BlackWolfi'm just a little curious about ur anthros/weres. are you trying to establish your own style? [don't take it the wrong way, because i know a lot of people who do establish their own style, and the appearance of any were/anthro is still up for debate because of opinion on the way things look.]

but anyway, even though foxes aren't my specialty, i say good job with the tail and color patterns, although I would double check on the lower torso area where the legs connect; it looks rather thin ^^

might want to bulk it up a little and add some more muscle to the legs since he appears to be a hunter. I also say that the eyes should be down a little further on his head and that the snout shouldn't be that thick. smooth and sleek is the way to go on a foxes face ^^

ZeeOn the whole, it's a great picture, Strata. The only problem I have is with the muzzle. Fox muzzles tend to be much slimmer than this fellows. Great coloring job, as usual!
