Gryphon Clay Box Top

The top for a school project in my final year of school that I took art class. I disliked this project, because clay (boxes at that) isn't my artistic element - so I made up for it by putting my favorite creatures on it, one of which was a gryphon for the box top (which doesn't fit all that well). It was only recently that I used my acrylics to color the very bland looking surface.
Inspiration/reference - for the gryphon's coloring, I read from a couple books somewhere that they "have" this coloring; besides, I like the color scheme.
