Future Manitoba

Another vision of the future, this time it's closer to the US perimeter: in fact it's my own home. Manitoba is basically a bowl ready to be filled by the rising oceans. So now that it's flooded, the maple trees needed to grow into water resistant trees. Many animals drowned in these waters, but the Beaver took advantage of it. It evolved into 2 seperate species (oh btw this is like 4 million years in the future). Now there's a kind of predatory beaver that replaced the wolves and other few predators. The mosquitoes have turned people: with less animals available to drink blood of, they've decided to drink the sap from the maple trees instead.
Thankfully, the humans survived this cataclysm, but are almost finished! The humans are expected to be extinct by 5 million years, and here they're on the edge of things. They lost most technology and have returned to a life style in the woods.
