Fallen Angel Sonic Says Hi

Depressed. Angry. Angry at himself. Mostly depressed. It hurt him. It hurt him so much.

"Can't sleep... can't save anyone..."

He whispered those words for the billionth time that day. Or it seemed like the billionth. It FELT like the billionth. The inside of his mouth felt dry, and cracked from the heat of Hell. He still stayed huddled against the small corner in his cell.

"Can't sleep... can't save anyone..."

His ears perked up. Both of them. He had realized. Realized something special. Something important.

He realized that nothing mattered now.

'Why mope', he thought, gleefully '... when you can have a good time here?'

"Hell" was, afterall, only a name for "the worst place ever". Or, at least, in his mind, that's how it worked.

His shattered mind. His CRACKED mind.

"Well then!" Sonic whispered to himself in a hoarse voice, "If my mind is cracked, then why not act completely bonkers? After all, it's more fun then to mope around here!"

The next time The Dark One visited Sonic, he found the hedgehog waving happily at the torturer, and smiling.

"Hello, Squid Man!" He called.

"Squid Man?" Squid Man questioned. But why would he question? That's his name, after all.

"Why yes! Wanna talk a bit?" The fallen angel invited. Squid Man shook his head... but he seemed to be smiling. Holding in a giddy laugh. Why was he so happy?

"No thank you, Sonic... er... how do you feel?" Sonic thought for a bit.

"Accepting." He finally replied. The Dark One narrowed his eyes, and you could now see the corners of his mouth through his face-tenticles.

"Excellent..." he crooned, and walked off.
