Drawn with a mechanical pencil. Sorry about the bg, by the way, a lot of it sort of disappeared when I scanned it. My scanner does not handle detail or light penciling very well. . .<br />

Looks like it's time to learn how to tweak your scanner's exposure (brightness) settings. Somewhere in your scanner utility there should be an options page with three brightness settings: "Highlights", "Midtones" (or Gamma), and "Shadows". What you need to do is find your scanner's Midtones value and dim it down a little, that will prevent light details from washing out when you do the final scan.
