He was the one who granted emergency powers to Palpatine! Before I saw the third movie, I actually wondered why Jar Jar never showed up in the original trilogy. Now we know!

It's not jar jar's fault. It's Lucas. Really, jar jar is lucas' kind of humor. Bland and really crappy. Much like all the humor in the new movies. I think Han Solo made the first movies. And there was nobody to replace him in the new ones.

And if the new movies were good... you wouldn't have to take it out on that crappy character.
