She cannot stick both out at the same time.
There is a sheath in the lower part of her mouth that the snek tongue hides in. the sheath is located in front of her normal tongue. Its one of my favorite features in my Kudahru alien design

Their cows had large snake like tongues. The cows needed a superior sense of smell to avoid eating any poisonous vegetation. There were lots of very poisonous plant on their home planet. Aiesha's home ship Horizon suffered large population loss due to a disease. The remaining Kudahru used DNA from their live stock to save the next generation. The side effects of only appeared in the females. In genetics the effects only appeared with XX chromosome and not XY chromosomes.
The primary tongue is used for tasting and speech. The other offers greater sense of smell. They also use the Snakey tongue to display threats; it works under water too but nobody on Horizon knows how to swim. The idea of the species becoming more dimorphic between the sexes I find very interesting, but Whenever I design the males and will therefore the original females I will probably have to balance some of these traits out just a bit. XD
