Bring Me to Life

"And then I was attacked. It might have been anyone--my invitation was open to sailors, thieves, maniacs, anyone. But it was a vampire. He caught me just a few steps from my door one night and left me for dead, or so I thought."

Thus Louis tells the young reporter about his first encounter with Lestat, the dashing Brat Prince of Vampires.

This is a picture of that scene in the novel, so you know what that means? That's right, HUMAN LOUIS! Looks weird at first with color in his skin, but I like it.

Drawn cause Lestat got jealous of me drawing Armand and wouldn't go away. Sketched in pencil, scanned and colored on the computer. It was originally a bit darker, cause it is night and all, but I lightened it so it's easier to see. The pose took an ungodly amount of time, their heads didn't want to look right. Still, I like them. Colored it in PSP, threw in a background at almost the last minute, played around with the different effects till it looked good. Those bushes were a pain.
I might do more with this later, I wanted it to be raining but I don't have the time or patience to figure out how at the moment.

The title is from the song by Evanescense, because it came on when I was coloring. It also fits, Lestat gives Louis a reason to continue existing when he's trying to get himself killed.
