Locke

This is...well, for the moment his name seems to be Locke. It just popped into my head last night and seems to be sticking...for the moment anyway... Almost every time I think about his name it's different. Anyway, Locke is a vampire who is over 1000 years old, and is the main character of something I'm writing. I'm not gonna tell you anything about it though. One thing I will say though, he's not your normal vampire. For some reason I felt compelled to re-write vampire mythology, and I'm still pinning down all the details. Maybe I'll put that info up somewhere when I've got it all figured out. The important stuff for him is that those fangs are actually in front of his normal teeth. This is one idea I was playing with, that the fangs used for biting actually retract into the upper gums and are not visible unless the vampire wishes it. another idea I'm thinking about is fangs that fold back like a snake's so they are hidden behind the vampire's upper teeth. Basically they fit either in front or behind the vampire's normal human canines. If you look closely his pupil isn't quite round. It's not enough to be noticed by most people. The pupil can expand to the size of the iris allowing the vampire to see in almost total darkness. However, as a result they are very sensitive to bright light, and wear sunglasses very often, even indoors. They don't burn up in the sun, they just get really bad sunburn and the light hurts their eyes. They can see into the infrared and ultraviolet spectrums, allowing them to see colors invisible to normal humans and they can see a slight glow around warm objects, such as human body heat. I'm trying to keep my vampires more grounded in science than the supernatural.<br />

Apparently the colors that come in the box are no longer good enough for me, that's four different colors in the hair, nine in the eyes, four in the skin, and three in the shirt. Plus white to blend the colors in the skin and shirt. Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking either. I like his hair though.<br />
