You used an official D&D dragon pic for reference, am I right? Looks just like it, and that's all I can leave about the style & physiology of it.
Anyway, here's a tip for you: To keep the drawing underneath from showing through, take a loose sheet of blank white paper/board (the thicker, the better) and put it underneath the drawing you're taking the picture of. Also, since this is a digicam shot, if you can find any ways to increase the contrast of your drawing, experiment with that because a digicam's auto settings don't really work well for shooting pencil sketches. Or if you can get your hands on a scanner, that'll work even better.
