Geezoh, it's been ages since I last posted anything, so I've decided to post sketches of one of the characters from my ill-fated storyboard contest. I had entered this contest a couple of months ago but I quit after realising I would never have it finished in time for the deadline. I was just too slow, and I'd foolishly chosen a subject that I wasn't used to. The script I chose was entitled 'Last of the Broken-Tokyo Ghost Hunters' and is set in the year 3000 (or thereabouts) where earth has been devastated by nuclear war. All the inhabitants of Broken-Tokyo had taken to the sky where they live in a floating city called Floating Tokyo (duh) and the new residents of the old city are things called Black Spirits, ghosts with the power to absorb humans (or even their souls after they had just died) and use them as puppets, known as the Re-Animated Dead.
Akashi and his friends are Ghost Hunters and while they were doing a recon of a ruined subway station, they discover a little girl called Shieri being chased by a bunch of Re-Animated Dead. Akashi and co. kill them, blow up the subway with a grenade and take Shieri back to Floating Tokyo.
Shieri becomes attached to Akashi and is devastated to learn that he is going back to Broken Tokyo to plant a beacon for a weapon called the Exodus Grenade, which the people of Floating Tokyo plan to use to destroy every single Black Spirit and leave planet earth forever. Akashi promises Shieri that he'll come back to her, but then Shieri secretly climbs aboard his jetbike and hides in a saddle bag.
Back on Broken Tokyo, Akashi and his gang have planted the beacon. They hear a noise coming from Akashi's jetbike and when he goes to investigate, he opens the saddle bag and find Shieri smiling at him. Then the gang are attacked by the Black Spirits. Akashi manages to take Shieri back to Floating Tokyo and the Exodus Grenade lands on the target, but doesn't explode. After making sure Shieri is safe, Akashi heads back to Broken Tokyo to detonate the grenade, shouting back to Shieri 'I couldn't save my little sister, but I can save you!'. The Black Spirits have merged together to become giant arms and try to prevent Akashi from detonating the grenade. More Black Spirits invade Floating Tokyo and begin assimilating the residents. They also try to absorb Akashi, but he manages to resist them and detonates the grenade. Plasma waves erupt from the grenade and kill all the Black Spirits, including the ones up in Floating Tokyo.
Floating Tokyo then jets off for outer space, leaving Akashi behind as the last man on planet earth.
Blegh, I hope you understood all that, because there is no way in HELL I'm repeating all that!! Also, don't anyone dare nick that story!
