Description
Description
I've been told that my drawings of men look girly and my drawings of women look too masculine, so I've decided to do some studying of slightly exaggerated body forms. I don't think there's anyone that looks more butch than Gene-Dog Omega.
Gene appears in the 2000AD comic in the story called 'Kingdom', where a future earth is overrun by giant insect-like creatures known as 'Them'. Mankind developed genetically engineered dog soldiers and then went into hibernation, as it were, leaving the soldiers to fight against Them and clean up the earth. Gene was once the leader of a pack, but Them ate the soldiers and now Gene wanders the earth alone, guided only by unheard 'Urgings'.
This was referenced from the story arc 'Call of the Wild.' He's actually supposed to be wearing a backpack and wielding a couple of blades, but I decided to omit them, preferring to focus on his anatomy instead.
Pencil with some tweaking in Photoshop
Gene is (c) of Dan Abnett and Richard Elson
